Kickstarted by Passion
From 6 to 8 June 2025,the Club, in collaboration with The Football Association of Hong Kong, China, proudly launched the inaugural International Youth Invitational Football Charity Cup, a spirited celebration of sport, unity and youth potential, at the Kai Tak Youth Sports Ground.
This milestone event welcomed youth teams from Spain’s Malaga CF U20, Japan J-League Youth Select U20, Hubei, China U18 and Hong Kong, China U20. While the competition on the field was intense, the true achievement lay in forging cultural exchange, showcasing talent and building friendships through football.
As Hong Kong prepared to take the international stage in the Asian Cup and the 15th National Games, the tournament offered local players a rare opportunity to compete with their peers from across the region. It was a vibrant showcase of athleticism and collaboration on the field.

“The First International Youth Invitational Football Charity Cup reflects our commitment to giving back to society. Through this event, we hope to extend the spirit of our Community Outreach and Charity Programme and live out our belief in contributing to the community that nurtures us”, says Dr Jack WK Wong, Club Chairman. “All participating teams and players gave their all on the pitch, delivering thrilling matches for the fans. This tournament offered Hong Kong youth footballers the rare opportunity to play on home ground with local support, while youngsters from disadvantage background were able to witness world-class football, inspiring a deeper interest in the sport across the community.”
“This is more than a football tournament – it’s a platform that brings together youth football, charity and cultural exchange. Besides exciting matchups between elite youth teams, we also hosted a football carnival and a series of charity-friendly matches, inviting the community to connect through sport and experience the unifying power of football,” said Mr Eric Fok, JP, Chairman of The Football Association of Hong Kong, China. “The net proceeds from the event will be donated to The Clearwater Bay Golf & Country Club Charitable Foundation, supporting local youth development and helping more young people pursue their dreams. We hope to take Hong Kong football to a new height and higher!”

Beyond the Pitch: A Legacy of Sports and Service
The International Youth Invitational Football Charity Cup went beyond competing; it furthered the Club’s wider mission. Since 2003, the Club has collaborated closely with local partners through its Community Outreach and Charity Programme to promote youth development, wellness, family, and sustainability, leveraging sports as a positive force. This landmark tournament brought that vision to life. It united young athletes across borders, celebrated diversity and inspired future leaders. For the Club, it reaffirmed its belief that sport has the capacity to uplift, connect and create enduring change. “The Club has always believed that sport is more than competition. It’s a way to inspire and unite,” said Mr Clement Lee, the Charity and Outreach Committee Chairman. “By driving sports economy and supporting underprivileged groups, we’ve created a platform that not only hosts world-class events, but reinvests proceeds into meaningful community programmes. That’s the dual value we stand for.”
